Without a committed .gitattributes, line-ending normalization on commit depended on each contributor's local core.autocrlf setting, so files could get re-flagged as changed by Obsidian Git purely due to EOL churn with no actual content difference. Pin text=auto eol=crlf repo-wide and renormalize stored blobs to match. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
